With the recent news that Nicollette Sheridans character (Edie Britt) is leaving Desperate Housewives, it wasn’t just fans who were surprised but even some of the cast from the show were shocked to hear about her departure.

“I love her so much as a person, and I love the character of Edie Britt, that I can’t imagine the show without her,” Eva Longoria Parker told ‘Extra’.

James Denton (Mike Delfino) was also shocked when he heard the news, “I’m totally out of the loop on that,”

“I talked to Nicollette about it. I know they’re trying to send some misdirection out there, so I’m not positive.” James told ‘UsMagazine.com’.

As to whether Edie’s character will be killed off the show; even the cast isn’t too sure on just how her departure will come about.

“We’re shooting an episode right now where one of the characters got shot — and it’s not Nicollette’s,” James continued to tell ‘Us Magazine’.

Other than the small bit of information he has been given based on Nicollettes departure from Wisteria Lane he says that he has to go online like everybody else to find out how she will leave the show.

“They’re pretty secretive, but I did see something about it on the Internet, so you never know”.

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross has just announced that her husband Tom Mahoney is battling cancer.

The news came as quite a shock to the couple who not too long ago started a family. The couple has been happily raising their family and their young twins and have said that they are getting all the help required.

Tom has been undergoing all the standard procedures to help fight off the cancer and his doctors are saying that it looks like the treatment is agreeing with him.

While there isn’t any more information available as to the complete extent of Tom’s condition, we send our thoughts out to Tom, Marcia and their family.
