Biography
Leighton Meester was born on April 9, 1986 in Marco Island, Florida, USA. Leighton’s childhood was anything but normal. Growing up her parents, Connie and Doug were involved in a drug ring which smuggled Marijuana from Jamaica to America. When police got to the bottom of it, both Connie and Doug were arrested for their involvement in the smugglings but some time later Connie managed to get out on bail.
Whilst Connie was out of prison she found herself pregnant and soon after she was convicted. She spent most of her pregnancy in a Texas state Prison until it was time for the delivery which took place at a Texas hospital. That day was the day that Connie welcomed Leighton into the world and she was allowed to live in a half-way house for three months while Leighton was still young. After Connie was sentenced to do ten years in prison, after a few months she was released and was able to be a part of Leighton’s life again after she had spent the past few months living with a relative.
Till today Leighton makes it very clear that she doesn’t hold a grudge against her parents for doing what they did all those years ago and what’s in the past should really stay there.
Leighton’s first acting role came in 1999 where she played ‘Alyssa Turner’ in the television series Law & Order however Leighton’s first big role came when she stared in the movie Hangman’s Curse which was based on the Frank Peretti best selling novel.
In her time getting to the top Leighton made appearances in many television shows with the likes of, Crossing Jordan, 7th Heaven, Entourage, 24, Veronica Mars and Numb3rs.
After a long 7 years and lots of hard work, Leighton landed the role of “Blair Waldorf” on the hit television series Gossip Girl. On the show Leighton plays a privileged young teenage girl who was born into the high society. She is known as the queen of fashion and the social scene and most of her peers aspire to be just like her. Whether hated or loved, Blair still manages to catch the attention of everyone and even the mystery blogger ‘Gossip Girl’ who seems to scrutinize Blair for everything she does.
