Biography
Nicole Scherzinger was born on June 29th, 1978 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA but spent most of her younger life being raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Growing up, Nicole attended a performing arts high school and was known for her singing talents. Whilst there Nicole entered the Coca-cola Classics talent show and won first prize. After that she went on to sing and act in many theatre productions which took place in her local theatre of Louisville.
After high school ended and her acting gigs started to die down a bit, Nicole decided to go to back to where she furthered her education in theatre arts at Wright State University.
After this Nicole decided to try her luck when she auditioned for the WB hit premier season of Popstars where she won the main role as lead vocalist in the girl pop group Edens Crush. After a short success and a role as a supporting act on tours with Nsync and Jessica Simpson the group’s record company hit a rough spot and unfortunately the group had to go their separate ways. Nicole always looked at her time in Edens Crush as a learning experience for her and never let the failure of that time get her down.
It was hell… I was in a band with five other girls and every day was torture for me. We were on TV all the time and the atmosphere was awful…. Every day I was in that band I cried my eyes out. The band was meant to be fun and frivolous but the reality was that it was miserable…. I was too sensitive back then, but I got toughened up. I couldn’t have gone into the Dolls without my experience in Crush.
In May 2003 Nicole signed up with the Pussycat Dolls to get in touch with her burlesque side. When Nicole decided to sign up with the Dolls she happened to join at the time where Robin (the founder of the Pussycat Dolls) was looking to stream out into a pop vocal group known for their sexy yet energetic dance moves. Nicole couldn’t have been happier as her dream in life had always been to sing and dance and be around a group of people who inspired to do the same.
Nicole landed the lead vocal in the pop group the Pussycat Dolls and since that day has never looked back. The success of the fist album PCD which went double platinum inspired Nicole to venture out and do a solo album her name is Nicole which also seemed to be quite a success. Nicole then went on to release the second album with the dolls, Doll Domination which is currently doing quite well in the charts.
