Biography

Christina Maria Aguilera was born on December 18th 1980 in Staten Island, New York, USA. When Christina was still a young child her parents filed for divorce and she continued to live with her mother after her parents went their separate ways. Christina and her mother moved quite often and this meant that Christina got to see a lot of places growing up. Since Christina was very young she had always had a dream to be a singer. When she was just 12-years-old Christina auditioned for the ‘Mickey Mouse Club’ (1989) she managed to get the part and ended up staying on with Disney for the next few years.

Christina then moved on to more serious career movements and released her debut single ‘Genie in a Bottle’ in 1999. The single and album went on to be a hit across the world and this shot Christina straight up to stardom. Having made a name for her, Christina went on to release a new album which took her back to some of her more cultural routs. In 2001 she released a Latin pop album titled ‘Mi Refeljo’ which gained her world-wide recognition. In 2002 Christina released the very controversial album ‘Stripped’ which showed of her more sexy and courageous creativity.

In 2005 Christina Aguilera married boyfriend and music producer Jordan Bratman. In 2006 Christina released the album ‘Back to Basics’ which showed of her jazzy and blues styles mixed with modern day beats. The album was a success just like her previous ones.

On January 12th 2008 Christina Aguilera along with husband Jordan Bratman welcomed their first child, son Max Liron Bratman.

Over the years Christina has definitely proven herself to be one of the very influential singers of our time. She has reinvented herself and image over and over to keep her fans interested and guessing. With four albums behind her and a greatest hits album currently on sale, we look forward to seeing what Christina holds in store for her next album which is said to come over later this year.

Wether she’s signing or just being a mum people find it very hard to find fault with Christina and that’s what makes her one of the most successful celebrities of our generation.
